A1 – vs Payneham @ Goodwood Oval
Despite a hole in the covers and a huge wet patch on a good length, the A grade got on at 2:30 with 72 overs to bowl Payneham out for less than 255. Muggleton and Senneck took the wickets as Payneham were dismissed for 185. With the game scheduled to go to 7 o’clock the A’s batted superbly thanks to Hagan-Burt as they finished 3/127.

A3 – vs Pulteney OS @ Morgan Oval
With Pulteney 4/14 overnight and no covers on Morgan Oval the B grade had a great chance to take 16 wickets and win outright. Chasing 287 Pulteney were never in the hunt as they were dismissed for 88. Enforcing the follow-on, the B grade needed to take 10 wickets in 45 overs for their second outright in a row. It wasn’t easy but thanks to fantastic bowling, fielding and team belief the boys bowled Pulteney out for 46 in just 22 overs. The B grade still have a slim chance of playing finals this season if they win outright again next week and have other results go their way.

B1 – vs Kilburn @ Cabra East
Resuming on 2/50 Kilburn needed to chase 300 for the win. The C grade bowlers toiled away hard with a few chances going down throughout the day. It got tight toward the end but the boys eventually got the job down winning by 41 runs. The wickets were shared between Short (30 overs), Harry Singh and Jeesan Peter. Batting again the boys lost a few wickets in chase of quick runs. finishing on 5/110. A huge round next week the boys look to seal a top 2 spot.

C2 – vs Pooraka @ Cabra West
Goodwood started day 2 on 2/56, thanks to Lee Smallacombe’s 30 last week. Chasing 117 Addy Rajesh and Hugh Verrall started well on a damp pitch. Goodwood, however, lost 7/42 to just scrape over the line for first innings points. Pooraka batted again and were dismissed for 86 as the wickets were shared. Needing 74 runs from 9 overs for the outright, Goodwood fell 12 runs short at 2/62. A huge game next week against Port Districts at Cabra, a win to the D grade will seal a home final.

LO2 – vs Athlestone @ Lockleys Oval
Being sent in on a damp Lockleys pitch winning was always going to be tough. Berndt and Dsouza both batted well as Goodwood posted 127. Poor bowling was the killer as second bottom Athlestone chased the score down just 7 down.

LO3 – vs MSCC @ LJ Lewis Oval
The LO3 surge for the top 4 came to an end with a 19 run loss to MSCC. Matt Sutter, Jack Luders and Tim Sargent all bowled well as MSCC accelerated after drinks to 168. The boys started well with the return of Tim Kimber from overseas and Kym Woods, but the boys eventually fell behind the run rate and were 19 runs short of the total.

LO5 – vs Woodville South @ Nazareth College
Being sent in at Nazareth College the LO5 team posted 127 after being bowled out in the 38th over. Szkup was the main contributor with 34. In reply Woodville were too strong as the score was chased 7 wickets down.
