Round 5: Vs Concordia @ Concordia College
The B grade had an outing to Concordia College and opted to batted first on a hard but seaming wicket. The boys battled really hard and fought our way through to 186 off 76 overs. There were a number of contributors throughout with valuable knocks from Nick Oag, Wray Liotta, Sam Fulton and the Keen brothers who put on an invaluable 50 run partnership. On day two the wicket had less grass but plenty of bounce and the ball swung for us. We started with a wicket first ball of the innings and first ball of the second over. Concordia counter punched with some seriously aggressive batting and as quick as wickets fell they were scoring at a very quick rate. Matty Keen bowled well and with some real aggression and was supported by Marty Kimber, Tim Keen and Brayden Stringer who all chipped in with 2, Matty finished with 4. We finished bowling Concordia out for 164 off 38 overs. We then had 33 to bat and finished strong with 2/97 and some class from Liotta and Jye Field o’ Dreams who both were not out 43 and 25. This puts us a win (and a bit) outside the four with Gepps Cross next at home.
