Chris Valente and Nick Fitzgerald are Goodwood Cricket Club Senior and Junior Club Champions for 2013/14.

Valente a previous winner has had an outstanding season with the bat and ball amassing over 541 runs at an average of 49.18 from 12 innings, add to that 17 wickets at an average of 14 he is a deserving winner.

Valente won narrowly after polling votes in the final 2 Limited Overs games. Going into Round 9, there was a 3 way tie between Timothy Keen (21 votes) and Matthew Ewers (21 votes_ after both players having successful seasons throughout all the grades they played.

All three players would of been deserving winners, but the “King” as they call him came through and Chris Valente has another Club Champion to take home for his mantlepiece.

    

 

Junior Club Champion

The Junior club champion title was taken out by an Under 15 player Nick Fitzgerald.

In a shortened season due to weather, in the 7 games he played he made 418 runs at 59.71. His season was highlighted by two impressive hundreds verses North Haven (125) in round 5 and 111 against Grange in round 8.

Jack Ramage finished a close second on 19 votes followed by Angus Brooks on 18 votes. Congratulations to all Junior and Senior players on a  successful season and thanks to all those who attended the Club Champion Night last Saturday.
