Semi Finals Previews
A preview of Goodwood Cricket Club’s 4 senior grades in Semi Final action this weekend. Goodwood, Lockleys, Grange and Unley.
A’s [A.1]
Goodwood Roos vs PAOC
Goodwood Oval
How often does a team finish 4 and score a home final? For our A grade this season the cards fell out way. With PAOC infamous park #9 out of action, Goodwood proudly will host the Semifinal at home.
Goodwood fell 57 runs short in chasing PAOC’s 269 with a rearguard lower order fightback after being in trouble at 4/43 in Round 8. What will play out with finals pressure?
An intriguing Semifinal is on the cards at one of Adelaide’s if not the states most picturesque ovals and a quality pitch. Its an oval that deserves finals action.
Action starts at 12:30.
B’s [ATCA A.4]
Goodwood Roos vs PAOC
Lockleys Oval – Will the Lockleys doctor drop by for a visit?
The B’s return to Lockleys for the second time this year and coincidentally against PAOC, yet this time with a lot more on the line being a Semifinal. Grant Lovering has led the team to a successful minor round achieving 3 Outright’s and 2 wins, securing second spot only to Fulham who finished 1st and yet to play.
Action starts at 12:30 in what will be a good days cricket down at Lockleys.
C’s [ATCA B.1]
Goodwood Roos vs Grange
Grange #2 – Lets hope that ball doesn’t go into the creek!
The C’s have snuck into the finals after a final round outright loss to Payneham. That will be a distant memory this week as this week its finals and we all know finals take on a whole new meaning.
Gavin Warnest has guided out thirds to a finals campaign in a strong B.1 competition, up against strong clubs B grades in Payneham and Grange; its a credit to the club to have the depth to make finals in this grade.
Neither team has played at #2 and it should be a competitive days cricket with our C’s blooding an interesting mix of experience and youth; anything is possible.
Action starts from 12:30.
