Season 2016/17 Senior Coaching Appointments

The Management Committee is delighted to announce the appointment of two highly skilled and experienced senior coaches for the 2016/17 cricket season. The new coaches will work with newly appointed Director of Coaching Jason Scroop reflecting the Clubs continuing commitment to providing players with the best possible amenities and support.

John Rankin

Universally known as JR in cricket circles, John has been a huge contributor to Adelaide Turf Cricket on and off the field for 35 years. He played for Richmond Clarence Park and Brighton at the highest level and currently sits on the ATCA Board of Management. He is keen to get involved once again at the coalface.

John represented the Adelaide Turf in interstate clashes with Victoria as Captain many times. He will take on the role of High Performance Manager with a view to improving the physical and mental skills of players and teams.

John is a successful manager of people in his workplace and is looking forward to applying his substantial knowledge and skills to the role. He will work closely with Fielding and Fitness coach Greg Quinn.

Greg Quinn

Greg has an impressive record as a senior coach and player spanning 40 years.

As our Fielding and Fitness Coach, he will bring his considerable qualifications and experience to the fore. Greg comes with coaching experience with the Redbacks, the East Torrens Cricket Club and having played a key role with the SA Scorpions and the Australian Women’s team. He was also a most successful Captain-coach with Para Hills in the ATCA in recent years. Greg’s enthusiasm for cricket at all levels is unsurpassed and he has recently brought it to the SA Seniors Cricket Association to motivate people to stay in the game longer at both local, national and international level.

Both John and Greg are highly respected contributors to cricket and we warmly welcome them to the Club.
