Junior Premierships

There are two junior premierships the club are celebrating this season. Well done to the U14 #1 team who overcame a strong Marion #1 outfit as they defended 186. Furthermore, well done to the U17 #1 team who defeated the Goodwood’s other team, U17 #2 in a one-dayer on Sunday. Below is a match report from the second day of the U14 #1 team.

The boys returned to Goodwood Oval to defend 186. Tight bowling and brilliant fielding made it difficult for Marion to score, reaching 3/40 after 15 overs. The next 15 they took every half chance including brilliant catches by Cain Satanek (3 catches for the match) and Thomas Crettenden. The spinners doing the damage with Oliver Wright and Kobe Lovering taking 2/9 each and the team bowling Marion out for 92 in the 33rd over.

The boys have had a great season finishing minor premiers and winning both the T20 and 2-day premierships. Congratulations to the lads and we wish them all the best as they move forward to U15s next year.

U14’s: Goodwood #1 186 (Sesh Rajesh 50* retired) def Marion #1 92 (Oliver Wright 2/9 Kobe Lovering 2/9)

U17’s: Goodwood #1 211 (Thomas Kelly 115, Liam Bunn 34, Angus Parker 4/22) def Goodwood #2 (Rhys Gaylard 86*, Angus Parker 45)

The three grand finalists is a testament to the strength of the club and the hard work that goes into training and helping these young cricketers. Goodwood wishes to congratulate all junior players on a fantastic season!
