Outstanding Achievements

Great Achievements by Goodwood LO players

Recently three members of our club attained high levels of recognition on the international stage.

Adam Wood, LO3 opening bat, was selected as Vice Captain of the Australian Deaf team that competed in the World Cup in India. Adam reports that the quality of cricket played was outstanding and Sri Lanka was the deserved winner. It’s a trip he will never forget.

Meanwhile Greg Quinn, in hot form for the LO3s, was appointed Captain of the Australian Over 60s team to play NZ later in the season. As you would expect Quinny’s experience, cricket knowledge and skill will give Australia a great advantage on this tour.

Finally Tim Sargent, LO1 bowler and prolific wicket taker for the club over many years, represented Australia in the Inaugural Over 50s World Cup in Sydney. Australia defeated Pakistan in the final by 3 Runs.

The Club congratulates all three Australian reps. Outstanding!!

In the meantime, four Goodwood LO3 players represented South Australia in the Over 60s National titles in Penrith NSW. They were Club Legends Rob Colwell and Greg Stagg as well as Greg Quinn and Graham Tomasini. Colwell captained the Division 1 side. Earlier on Red represented South Australia in the Over 70s Nationals on the Sunshine Coast.

The Club is proud that all of these players are promoting longevity in the game at the highest level possible.
