Semi Final Results

B1 – vs Grange @ Goodwood Oval
Winning the toss on a sticky wicket Robbo decided to bat. Batting for almost 60 overs the boys worked hard and made 127 thanks to Lloyd Cook’s 51. With 20 overs at them before stumps the boys bowled superbly as Grange collapsed to 7/30. On Sunday the C’s cleaned up the tail as Grange were all out for 60. Yuvi Bains was the standout on his way to 5/21. The second innings then got underway, Goodwood were dismissed for 105 with a lead of about 170 with 11 overs to bowl in the day. Grange tried hard but it was always going to be too many runs. The C grade are on to their second grand final in as many years.

C2 – vs Brighton @ Cabra East
Having won the toss and batted on a sticky wicket, Brighton’s spinners did the damage as Goodwood could only manage 53. With 36 overs to bowl on Saturday Brighton passed Goodwood’s score and finished 4/54. Hoping for a miracle on Sunday, the boys bowled brilliantly to dismiss Brighton for 76. Goodwood went back in and batted positively as they declared at 6/113 off just 22 overs thanks to Leditschke’s 63* (his maiden club 50) and Pathania’s 25. 30 overs were left to bowl and Goowood had a lead of 90 to protect, but Brighton decided to block at all costs. Tight bowling meant 6 wickets fell but it wasn’t enough as the boys have been knocked out. Well done to the D grade who had their most successful season since making finals 9 seasons ago.

LO2 – vs Glenunga @ Wilson Oval
Captain Potts sent Glenunga in on a green and sticky wicket out at Cabra. After leaking a few runs early Tim Sargent and Raj Singh pulled Glenunga back as they were dismissed for 133. The chase had a few hiccups but thanks to even contributions to Martin, Berndt, George and Munro, the runs were chased down with 6 overs to spare. The LO2’s face a very strong multiculturals team next week who have gone through the season undefeated.
