Goodwood Oval Clubrooms Update
As many of you would be aware the proposed new Goodwood Oval Clubrooms met some opposition from a select few local residents. The staff at the Unley council with some support from the Goodwood Saints Football Club and Goodwood Roos Cricket Club have worked through a number of issues and come to an agreement with the local residents so that the building work can proceed. This is outstanding news and both clubs await the new building with great excitement. Final costings are being done at present with a builder to be announced during November and building works planned to commence in December this year. Below are the floor plans and images of the new building.
Both clubs will be required to make a financial contribution to the new clubrooms with the club funds going towards decking out the new kitchen, bar, clubrooms, honour boards, merchandise cabinets, security systems etc. The cricket club has set a goal of raising $30k and we are well on track with $13k already tucked away. This money has been raised in the past 18 months predominantly from a few Bunnings BBQ’s and raffle books sold last year by the junior parents, so a massive thanks to those children and parents that sold raffle books, and massive thanks to the volunteers that have helped out with a Bunnings BBQ. Within the next few months we will be offering club members, past players, life members and friends of Goodwood Cricket Club the opportunity to make a cash donation to the building fund, which in return will see your name or family name engraved on one of the external pavers (outside the canteen).
